Colts -v- Stocksbridge 3rd October 2021
A lovely sunny afternoon and a great start from Mosborough with some fiery attack we have our first scrum and Jack gets the ball out and to Sam Stocksbridge fight back but not for long as Dan on his debut return performs a tackle like something you’d see on WWE ☄️💥 some great play from both teams and further powerful tackles from Will and Dan again. Training with the big boys is paying off and Senior presence brought a great atmosphere from the Colts!
The game proved smashing literally with brute force from Morgan, Kieran M, Will and Vince but ooppps Conor comes in with a slightly high tackle 🤦🏻♀️.
A Great kick from Stocksbridge sends the ball out resulting in a line out Stocksbridge take the ball and make a good run forward but not before Mosborough defence stop them in their tracks causing a Stocksbridge boot to come flying off 🥾
Sergeant Alfie has possession and makes a massive drive forward, ain’t nothing stopping him….well ok it took about 5 of the Stocksbridge lads to take him out! Superb tackles from Ciaran and Will to win in back
The ball is up and down the pitch so fast it’s hard to see who has it and when but more great defensive work from Reuben and Alfie with their fearless tackling
Conor has it now and boom the ball is in the air and out for a line out
Will wins possession passes out to Jack who off loads to Conor and it’s now with Kieran C who ploughs forward for the first try of the game. Joel makes a cracking conversion for a score of 7/0
Back in play and Ciaran passes out to Joel who makes a great run before Stocksbridge make a heavy tackle the balls out but James drops on nicely
Again the teams back and forth until we’re in for a scrum Stocksbridge take the ball and make a good clearance
Dan the Man is back with his slam dunks
Conor also comes in with a great tackle then Will who finds Kieran M he takes it forward before he’s brought down by Stocksbridge. Unfortunately Kieran M ended up with a war wound…..hope you’re on the mend KM 👌🏼
Reuben, Jacob, Morgan, Sam performed great tackles to stop Stocksbridge in their efforts to take over Mosborough’s half
Rodine takes the ball and makes a great drive into Stocksbridge territory
Kieran C smashes through again for a second try unfortunately we missed the conversion taking the score to 12/0
Mosborough have the fire in their bellies today and Joel has possession in the first quarter of his own end of the pitch he then just runs like Forrest Gump not looking back up 3/4 of the pitch for a triumphant try and conversion we’re now at 19/0
The balls in the air Alfie catches it but then the balls back out with Stocksbridge but boom nice tackle from Jack
Superb kick again from Conor but Stocksbridge take it, not for long as in comes Vince then Sam
Brilliant pick up from Jacob
Stocksbridge then pick up the game with a great come back try but no conversion bringing the score to 19/5
Stocksbridge are back fighting for another try and make a great conversion for 19/12
However, Mosborough are not fazed their heads are still up and then…… a run by Ciaran from the half way line for a phenomenal try (look at me with the big words) 😂 bang a final conversion and there we have it 26/12 to Mosborough Colts!!!!
Sorry if I’ve not managed to get everyone in the report but boys you all worked so hard as a team and everyone contributed to this win!!!!
