Under 12 Match Report vs Wortley

Mosborough under 12’s travelled to Wortley to play a three way fixture with Wortley and Thorn. Mosborough faced Wortley and the game started with a trademark George Miller try from in his own half, jinking his way through the Wortley defence, followed straight away by an identical try.

Mosborough’s defence was aggressive and fast with Jake Howson and Alfie Middleton flying into the Wortley attack, often gaining territory in defence. Jacob Houghton made good use of the extra foot he’s grown in the off season and ran in two more tries. Good pressure from Wortley eventually breached the Mosborough line for a try. Half time 20-5.

The second half was more of the same from Mosborough, aggressive defence and carrying from debutant Charlie Hunt and Brooklyn Rogers created turnover ball and Jamie Keen made good use of it smashing over in the corner for another try. The move of the match came when Tariq Alsadon powered through the Wortley line only to get stopped 5 metres short but good support from Will Shepherd allowed him to offload and for Will to slide over the line.

Final score: 45-5 to Mosborough

Under 12 Match Report vs Thorne

Mosborough’s second game of the day was Vs Thorne. We were full of confidence after the Wortley game but looking a little tired. Mosborough’s defence was strong and aggressive with a mixture of big tackles from Tariq and low technical tackles from Danny Wood they kept Thorn at bay. Eventually Thorne broke the line and scored a try which they had to earn. Good rucking from Lewis Coleman and Jake Howson gave Will shepherd chance to release George Miller down the wing who flew down the line for a try.

The Half Time score stood at 10-5 in favour of Thorne.

The second half was more of the same. Resolute defending from Mosborough forced turnovers on our own line on several occasions, but for whatever reason we couldn’t seem to retain possession and get into our rhythm. The opposition scored three more tries from close range despite good defence and teamwork. Plenty of positives to take in to the remainder of the season.

Final Score: 25 - 5 to Thorne
