Under 10's vs Castleford & Dinnington

Mosborough, went toe to toe against Castleford and Dinnington today and produced two highly entertaining games for all to see. The weather was bright and sunny, the pitch look great (it was the first teams pitch but we well and truly played on it!) in the sunshine! The morning was full of drama and emotion – and that was just from parents finding the best position to watch from!

Following the first game between Castleford and Dinnington, our game promised to be tough as both teams played a very eye opening game!

Castleton v Mosborough

Mosborough started off with great determination and gave as good as we got. While Castleford played a very physical and sometimes tried to provoke reactions throughout the match. However, Mosborough rose above this and wore their Mosborough badge with pride and played a fantastic hard match. Very impressive!

This half was far more even with both sides enjoying periods of dominance. It was a great performance by one and all, Logan was organising the line and going in for every tackle, protecting the ball. James, Owen, Will/Geoff, Harrison standing their ground and proudly holding their own. The training is paying off as we were contenders, great defensive work and strength.

The second half started as we had left off but towards the end Mosborough finally tired and the score went against us – 5- 1. All our hard work continued throughout with great nabbing from Geoff/Will, Katie and Oliver pushing Castleford back or out of the side line! But nothing was stopping Matty with his tremendous run for a great try to top all Mosborough hard work off.

Final Score: Castleford 8 - 3 Mosborough

Dinnington vs Mosborough

Mosborough were more up for this match but the score doesn’t show that! First half 3 v 1 - Yet another enthralling game of rugby. Dinnington began to find their flow as the match moved forward, again it was a competitive encounter, but were often just pipped by one or two quick runs from Dinnington!

Logan continued to be a force to be reckon with. Lewis intercepted a great lose ball but taken out before the try line. Once again we were organised and motivated, showing great improvement with our tackling and defending. Dinnington stepped up a gear and their number 10 was quite impressive with his fast thinking and movement.

The second half 4 v 2 - Mosborough started off slower but always looked dangerous with the ball, and it was good to see the team defending together, protecting the ball and battling to breakdown Dinnington at every opportunity. As the half went on both teams locked together but Henry saw an opening and took the ball all the way down the line for a brilliant try.

The joy was short-lived as Dinnington found a great pass across the pitch into space and ran down the line for another well worked try, as Mosborough’s energy dipped slightly but we didn’t give up and when we were on our game they were a match for anyone! However, Geoff/Will had the final word with a fantastic run and the final try of the game – it was brilliant ending to a very hard game!

Final Score: Dinnington 7 - 2 Mosborough
