We ALL need to help to do something to fix the any game day discipline issues that are occurring with Adult or Age Grade rugby. This can be anywhere, players, coaches and spectators. The core value of RESPECT seems to be eroding rapidly and we need to push that message back down that abuse is NOT tolerated.
If every 'expert' on the side of a pitch took a qualification and would stand in the middle of a pitch and referee we would be more than happy , but they don't , instead it is criticism of every issue not seen, decision made irrespective of materiality and aggressive vocal accusation of bias. Coaches are not immune from this either and even will forget or not be aware that Age Grade regulations trump what ever they think they know about laws. Referees are HUMAN , they are not perfect, they don't typically have a team with them ( like they do on TV ) so SUPPORT THEM. The greatest way we can show that support is to respect them from the moment they arrive to the time they leave. Their decision is final , no matter how wrong you feel it is. If something is dangerous then do respectfully call to SIR ( ladies as per agreed ) and ask about it, otherwise leave it till half time check in or end of game. Talk to the players and remind them now and before every game that the referee is the person in charge and us AS A CLUB will not tolerate abuse of any form.
Everyone can help with this and maintain our CORE Rugby Values!
