Mosborough Remembers...
This year Remembrance Day was the mark of the 100 years since the First World War ended. Many of us went to The service at st marks church I’m Mosborough. The service was very moving, more than usual, but I managed to hold myself together.. almost!
I got cold shivers and goose pimples when Sue gave statistics, I was in ore of the respect the nation showed the unnamed solider and the resilience of the people that was evident through the photos we saw on screen. I had a lump in my throat when the guitarist sang his own song about never forgetting.
BUT the thing that finally tipped me over the edge was the amount of players, parents and volunteers from our club who turned out to mark their respect to all armed forces and civilians past and present.
We are unlike most clubs, we are not just teaching our children how to play rugby, we don’t just use words like, respect, discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork and values... our juniors practice them all, and this years remembrance service was prove of that.
