Mosborough under 14’s v Goole 03/03/19

Mosborough off to a good start Fin makes good pick up moves forward like lightening but is taken down by Goole the ball is now with Joel who makes a fantastic offload to The Princess (Conor if ya not aware yet) but he’s also taken out with a strong Goole tackle however Reuben ducks and dives his way through Goole’s  defence to get the try Rodine comes up to take the kick to start the score off 7/0

Back in play the ball is out well picked up by Kian.  Joel is on it and through for a try he makes the conversion 14/0

Kian on the ball makes a run forward with brilliant support from Josh fantastic pick ups by Jack and then Bailey who was tackled and covered by Josh and Sam R, Rodine picked it up to score the try but just missed the conversion 19/0

More great play follows Goole fight back hard the ball is kicked high in the air with an amazing catch by Josh but he’s tackled and the ball is with Goole but not for long as another good tackle by Rueben snatches it back Mosborough put up some good defence but not quite good enough as Goole smash through for the try but unfortunately the conversion didn’t make it taking the score to 19/5

Both teams are playing with healthy aggression this is an evenly matched game Goole are in control but wait........whose that diving for the legs......Morgan with a fantastic hard tackle, face in the dirt

Ciaran takes hold of ball and runs like a gazelle flying down the wing but the tackles are coming in hard!!

Joe was back this week after a few weeks recovering from his broken ankle played a solid 20 mins but we don’t want him off again so he’s taken off now and told to rest! Well done Joe 👍🏼🏉

The hot potato also known as a rugby ball is up and down the pitch with both teams wanting the next try Goole take possession and it’s slammed into the mud over the line an excellent kick takes the score to 19/12

Mosborough have a talk and their heads are back in game amongst the hustle and bustle the ball is out a magnificent pick up from Sam V and he takes it fast and furious up the wing a massive run but he’s taken out by a great Goole tackle.  The crowd got a little over excited and the newly appointed official/linesman Chris W comes wafting his flag....get back, get back, please away from the line 🚩😂

After a half time team talk the teams are back lined up on the pitch Conor boots the ball and the boys chase it

Sam V is there again picks up and off he goes

Fin gets it.....yes Fin run ....... he makes his way close to the Goole try line but Goole make a cracking tackle and push him out of play

Line out....it’s thrown in and Princess smashes through for the try 24/12

Today was new team member Jake’s first game and what a game he had some great pick ups and some big tackles welcome to team /family Jake

Brilliant pick up by Callum

Sam V, Kian and James, Robert and Mathew good tackles and great support Goole break back through for another try but miss the conversion 24/17

Rodine gets the ball and he’s still running with one Goole player hanging from his waist and another on his leg he offloads to who....... yes Sam V he’s there again (where has this young player emerged from....oh yeah Team U14)

Callum grabs the ball and makes a good drive forward

Last play the ball is out and the whistle blows what a fantastic game that was 👌🏽 final score 24/17........... however I am told I’ve missed something as the ref says 29/17 and I’m not one for arguing ...

Anyway for this I’m passing the book to my fellow spectators who cannot be trusted when I say was that a try or did that go over or even the linesman who may or may not have got in the way with his flag!!!

Well deserved Men on the Match goes again to Sam V (forwards) and Jake (backs) some cracking play well done 👏🏼👍🏼

Also a special thank you to Robert, James, Josh, Morgan and Sam R for your sportsmanship in helping Goole with their numbers, we’ve been in that position before!Massive well done boys 👌🏽🙌🏼🏉
