Well it's been far too long without any rugby matches, but it was so good to see so many young boys and girls enjoying playing rugby matches again today :)

So that we could ensure the safety of all and follow government and RFU guidelines we had a number of teams playing at home and a number playing away. Those teams playing at home included the U10/11/12/15 teams and playing away the U8/9/14 @ Dinnington and U16 @ Dronfield.

A great day was had by all, with a number of new players registered and playing their first game today!

I think that this match report from the U10s summarises the efforts and feeling across the club today, with the exception of the U14s who had a strong performance against Dinnington.

"As the team limbered up, a foreboding cloud passed by in the distance, the guys didn’t notice it, they were too focused, determined and eager to get back to the game they love.  Gum shields in, and they were off!
Straight off the bat was a tsunami of Dinnington attacks, the team bravely sought to thwart the deluge, but the hard work of Dinnington paid off in the first quarter.  The sun came out and Ava scored a fantastic try, punching a whole through the defence, who were heard to say, “cor what was that?!” - “...that was an Ava buddy” was the response.
Quarter 2 - Mosborough started off strong with tries in quick succession, did we have Dinnington on the run?  Not for long, soon Dinnington applied more pressure and with consistency scored more tries.  Some fantastic attacking runs from Lucas and Cameron, with one paying dividends with a try.  “Are you sure they are 10?  He’s bigger than my husband” someone shouted, but went unnoticed.
Quarter 3 and 4 - more Dinnington pressure and tries and some brave responses from Mosborough, Ava scoring more tries and Lucas adding another.  Also showing great commitment Cameron with some great tackles (50p a tackle as an incentive).  Good effort by Henry D nearly putting one over the line.  Max and Reuben putting in some great attacks.
Great first match by Rowan.  All round great first game back by all.  Some take-aways that we can work on in training - ready for the away match next Sunday!
Players of the match today, Ava and Cameron.
Thanks to all the parents showing support for both teams, and coaches for doing what they do best."
Roll on next weekend and more matches!!
A massive thanks to all the parents, coaches, managers and volunteers for everything you do to make all of this happen for the kids :)
